The graph below shows the production levels of the main kinds of fuel in the UK between 1981 and 2000. Summarize the formation by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
A glance at the graph provided reveals some clear differences in the manufacturing of three primary fuels named Petroleum, coal and natural gas in the United Kingdom during the period from 1981 to 2000.
Of these fuels, the highest was Petroleum
production
. Its production
soared from approximately 85 tones
in 1981 to 140 tones
in 1986 prior to dropping to a low of just 101 tones
between 1990 and 1992. Nonetheless
, its production
again experienced an upward trend, culminating at 143 tonnes in 2000. Yet, by far the most significant change to take place during this
period was the increased production
of natural gas. Although
its production
was the lowest at about 39 tones
from 1981 to 1990, in 1991, it took over coal, which had the second stage in the graph and reached a peak of manufacturing more than 100 tones
of natural gas in 2000. In stark contrast, however
, coal production
saw a downward trend. Regardless of some fluctuations, it halved from 80 tones
in 1991 to less than 40 tones
in 2000.
In general, petroleum was the vitally important fuel in the UK, while
, coal production
had a tendency to be blurred.Submitted by golriiz.azizi1991 on
