State your main view clearly in the first line. For example: “I strongly agree that teachers should follow a dress code.”
Answer both parts of the question. Explain why school clothes are good for children and why a dress code is good for teachers.
Develop each idea. Say how uniforms can help poor and rich children feel more equal, and how teacher clothes can help create a more serious school.
Use a clear example. For instance, explain that simple teacher clothes may help students see teachers as work leaders.
Add a short final paragraph that repeats your view and gives the main reason.
Use a simple four-part plan: introduction, children’s uniforms, teachers’ dress code, and conclusion.
Start each paragraph with one clear main idea. Do not put many ideas in one long sentence.
Use linking words in the right way: “First,” “Also,” “For example,” and “In conclusion.”
Make your sentences complete and easy to follow. For example, write “When children wear uniforms, they look the same.”
Check key words before you finish, such as “wearing,” “same,” “because,” “uniform,” “environment,” and “professional.”
You give a clear view that teachers should have a dress code.
You include two useful ideas: fairness for children and a more professional school.
You try to use paragraph links such as “For example” and “Moreover.”
Your second paragraph stays focused on teachers and their clothes.
Include an introduction and conclusion
A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.
The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.
The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:
- Summary
- Restatement of thesis
- Prediction or recommendation
Example:
To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.
Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:
- In conclusion
- To conclude
- To summarize
- Finally
- In a nutshell
- In general
