Some people say that you can learn more about another country by watching television programs and films about it than by actually visiting it. How true is this statement? Is there anything you can learn about another country by visiting it that cannot learn by watching programs and films about it? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience.

As more shows and movies are now able to allow us to gain an insight into different cultures and customs, some might claim that we can understand more about many other countries simply by watching it on TV. While it might be true in some true in some cases, I believe that there is a range of unexplored ways of life that could never be seen on any television programs.

A large amount of budget is allocated by the government for the entertainment industry namely arts, music and theatre. Some people opine that government should utilize these funds in public services instead. This essay will outline why it is necessary to invest more funds in public services while at the same time a small amount of investment is needed to enhance the entertainment sector of a country.

These days mobile phones and the internet are very important to the ways in which people relate to one another socially. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

In this contemporary era, technology is progressing at an exponential pace. Mobile phones and the internet are becoming the need of every person to interact with the community. This electronic advancement has affected relationships in various ways. In my perspective, the drawbacks certainly seem to be exiguous as compared to the benefits. In the upcoming paragraphs, I will elucidate my viewpoint with relevant examples.

School teachers are more responaibke for social and intellectual development of students than parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Social and cognitive development of a child is an important determinant of his future life. It is often argued that, teachers play an important role more than that of parents in this aspect. I disagree with this statement and will cover a few reasons to support it.

the growing number of overweight people is putting a strain on the healthcare system. In an effort to deal with health issues involved, Some people think that the best way to deal with this problem is to introduce more physical education lessons in the school curriculum .To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is undoubtedly true that the increasing population of obese individuals is becoming a huge burden on the health sector. Consequently, some are of the opinion that incorporating more exercise lessons and sporting activities in schools is the ultimate solution. While I agree that physical education should be added to the school curriculum, I would also argue that choosing healthier diet options is another resolve to be considered.

Some people think that having a set of retirement age (e.g 65 years) for everybody, regardless of occupation, is unfair. They believe that certain workers deserve to retire and receive a pension at an earlier age. Do you agree or disagree? Which types of workers do you think should benefit from early retirement? It is argued that a certain age should be agreed for retirement of senior citizens in respective of their jobs and some senior citizens should be allowed to retire and receive their pensions earlier. This essay would agree that senior workers in certain jobs should be allowed to retire earlier and would discuss the type of workers that are eligible for early retirement.

Some of the methods used in advertising are unethical and unacceptable in today’s society. To what extent do you agree with this view?

Advertisements are ways of telling people about products, jobs and services. Different organizations and companies advertise their goods and services in order to increase visibility and sales. Nowadays, many believe that most methods of advertising are immoral and inappropriate. I strongly agree with this notion, owing to the fact that these approaches has done more harm than good. That is, they either promote favouritism or nudity.

A lot of places on the world rely on tourism as a main source of income. Unfortunately, tourism can also be a source of problems if it is not managed correctly. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of tourism in the modern world. Do you think that benefits of tourism outweighs its drawback?

Many country's main revenue generation is from tourism. Regrettably, problems can arise from mismanaged tourism. Asides the fact that not all tourists are credible, some of them end up staying back and therefore, causing an increase in population. However, tourism enriches the nation by bringing development which attracts foreign investors.

Modern building change the character and appearance of towns and cities. The government should insist that new buildings be built in traditional styles to protect cultural identity. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Owing to the erection of new structures, the features of urban areas are transformed. Many demand that the government enforces strict laws saying that recent buildings be designed traditionally to preserve cultural heritage. In my opinion, I strongly disagree with this notion and therefore believe cities should be modernized.

Eating too much sugar is harmful for health. Some people think that it is government responsibility to limit people’s sugar consumption, while others think that it is individuals responsibility to limit the amount of sugar they eat. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It thought by some that it is the responsibility of those in in authority to reduce the intake of sugary food by individuals, while others are of the view that individuals should be in control of their sugar intake. In my opinion, I consider that the government should increase the taxes paid by sugary food industry in order to curtail this behaviour. This essay would discuss both opinions, and provide a logical conclusion.

High expectations for children are nothing new in today’s society. It leads to the tendency to push children to study harder and harder. In my opinion, the connection between effort and achievement is quite obvious and should not be denied.

The detrimental effects of environmental is quite grave not only at national level but to the whole world. Many awful problems persist in the global village. A lion’s share of society suggests, it is only possible at governmental level. However, I would disagree with this statement.

It is widely believed that in the design stage of a building, its function should be considered more important than how its exterior looks. Personally, I agree with this idea.

It is often thought that teachers have a greater influence in both intellectual and social aspects of children's development as soon as they begin schooling. I completely agree with this view because teachers teach them how to sharpen their intellect in school and also how to build better relationships with one another.

There is an argument that one of the most important things that have been invented in several centuries is computers. I cannot agree more with this argument. It is undeniable that the emergence of computers themselves has improved many mankind's aspects, such as communication or education. Besides, computers help create many other advanced technologies like robots and 3D printing, promising a new era of innovation and revolution for human beings.
