Home and
school
are considered the primary domain of learning for kids. Young minds are like a mound of clay, transient, waiting to be shaped and metamorphosed into a matured human being. But as ancient Greek wisdom had claimed it thousands of years ago, a sound mind can reside only in a sound body. Since

the primary

for building a good

of their children falls on the parents, many would see
school
as the principal site for
such
habit
formation. While both sides have significant rationale to support their claim, I argue that the
responsibility
should be shared equally by these two separate but complementary pedagogical locations. In the following paragraphs, I will look at both sides of the argument and provide
for my own position.
When a new
life
comes into being, it
itself already entangled in a cultural
. It finds
firmly rooted within a certain ethos, and a particular language, a set or
principals and home
the primary site where the process of inculcation of
sociorelating to human society and its members
-ethical values and habits begin. For children, parents act as
role
models and as soon as their cognitive capability crosses a certain threshold enabling them to form
particalunique or specific to a person or thing or category
memory and make sense of a variety of actions in their own way, they start to emulate elders, especially their parents. In
this
early phase of
life
,
immitationthe doctrine that representations of nature or human behavior should be accurate imitations
works as a crucial mode of learning for kids.
Hence
, like any other practice, what kind of
food
they would grow into depends substantially on the
culineryof or relating to or used in cooking
preference of their parents.
Hence
, in order to keep their offspring well nourished, it is the primary duty of the guardians to take extreme care of what kind of
food
the young body is exposed to. As these early years are often claimed as the formative period,
hence
great care should be taken to ensure that the body gets its essential nutrients
such
as vitamins, minerals, proteins etc. And being the closest and most influential beings in the early
life
of a child, there is sufficient reason to think that to a great extent, parents should be liable to shape their kid's palate so as to provide them with a strong physical constitution.
But just as parents occupy an essential
role
when it concerns the
habit
of their children, schools - often hailed
as '
second
home' -
also
act as an important instrument. Even as they start to eat a certain kind of
food
through the active intervention of parents long before they start going to
school
, they are often not told the exact reason for choosing
one
food
over another. So, at
this
stage, their choice of consumption works on a practical level without the proper
knowledge
as to why we need to avoid certain dishes and why it is essential to arrange our
food
intake in a certain way. And
this
is where teachers in
school
can become functional. It is for them to provide these young minds with the proper information regarding nutrition and the importance of acquiring a healthy
food
habit
. Since in our society teachers formally seen as the reservoir and disseminator of
knowledge
, guidance coming from them concerning
and can have a lasting impact on these youngsters.
Hence
, it is the teacher’s
responsibility
to bring what these children already practice to the level of
knowledge
.
Thus
, what begins at home at an early stage at the level of practice, enters the domain of
knowledge
at
school
.
Therefore
, the
role
of teachers in forming the
food
habits of
generation is as important and complementary to the
one
played by parents.

side at the cost of another and fails to take into account the complexity of the multitude of processes that shaping a

life
of children, it slowly becomes clear that the
responsibility
doesn't lie entirely on the
one
or the other, but rather they play a complementary
role
.
