International tourism has brought enormous benefit to many places. At the same time, there is concern about its impact on local inhabitants and the environment.Do the disadvantages of international tourism outweigh the advantages?

Tourism
acts as an adhesive in the modern era, connecting people from various regions across the globe. Thanks to the various technological advancements, no place is far away in
this
world.Whether
tourism
is beneficial or harmful has been a controversial discussion. I believe that international
tourism
has many more drawbacks than advantages. I would like to throw some light on my viewpoints in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin
with,
tourism
causes a huge loss to the local environment of a place. To add on, unplanned development to cater to the needs of increasing tourists leads to large scale deforestation, affecting the natural habitat of birds and animals.
Secondly
, growing number of vehicles on the road lead to immense air pollution in the region.
Besides
that, an increase in the traffic jams on the roads adds to the misery of the native residents.
Thirdly
, people from other countries bring a lot of anti-social elements from their region, because of which there is a bad impact on the local youngsters. They generally get carried away with the glamorous lifestyle of the west and start doing smoking, drinking and drugs. Some people think differently. They argue that
tourism
not only provides various employment opportunities to the regional people
,
Accept space
,
but
also
it has a vital contribution to the economic prosperity of the area.
Second
,
tourism
destroys regional barriers and makes people aware of the customs of different countries, making them a well informed global citizen. Taking length and breadth of the topic, I firmly opine that international
tourism
has numerous disadvantages which clearly outnumber the advantages.
