Some people regard video games as harmless fun, or even as a useful educational tool. Others, however, believe that video games are having an adverse effect on the people who play them. In your opinion, do the drawbacks of video games outweigh the benefits?

Video
games are often regarded as harmless fun and sometimes as a useful educational tool.
However
, the adverse effects on people who play them cannot be ignored. In my opinion, the drawbacks are more than the advantages. Stimulation of the mind and improvement in critical thinking is possible by playing many board games like chess, dominoes etc. By playing educational games, kids are able to learn faster. To illustrate, it has been found that kids who played educational games like crosswords, scrabble at home did better at school than others.
On the other hand
, there are many drawbacks to kids spending lots of time on
video
games. The Growing tendency of aggression among children is attributed to playing lots of violent
video
games. There are live examples of people even losing their life
as a result
of playing these violent games.
In addition
, due to reduced physical activity as compared to active sports
,
Accept space
,
obesity and other health related problems are becoming more common. Recent studies indicate that a major contributing factor for children to develop eye problems is due to
video
games. In conclusion, while there may be some advantages of
video
games as an educational tool
,
Accept space
,
there are numerous drawbacks that are affecting the society as a whole. The situation can be improved by a conscious decision making process on the part of parents and children.
