Many people might think that families aren’t that important to teenagers. But for teenagers, parents and families are the source of care and emotional support. Parents and kids must learn how to manage conflicts because they are inevitable. “Every individual has an instinct for conflicts. At least all healthy individuals,” Hilary Burrock sai

that is
too intense, too frequent, too long lasting, and that leads to aggression and disturbances in work or relationships requires therapeutic help (Patterson & Forgatch, 1985).

Another common problem is the parents’ expectations. Parents have expectations of their child with everything. Their children never seem to be good enough for them: grades are not good enough, the bedroom is not clean enough, and time with friends is always too long. That makes their teenagers the feeling of stress, which may create conflicts with their parents. Parents and teens need to talk to each other, parents must trust their children’s decisions. Trust is important to teens because they want you to see that they are making good choices. In order to do that, you need to trust them. Raising children sometimes just caring and teaching is not enough. Parents must pay attention, understand and try to give love and warmth to the children as well. Parents
also
need to give them the opportunity to do as they like. In conclusion, parents and teens are on different planes most of the time. While parents were a teenager once, they’ve forgotten many of the stresses and experiences that teens might be going through. Teens
also
can’t understand the choices their parents make because they haven’t reached that level of growth.
Therefore
, lots of different problems can be solved with a lot of patience of both parents and teens.
