Governments should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

It is widely claimed that the authorities should pay for the trains
instead
of constructing roads. From my point of view, I think both roads and railways should be financed by the government to improve the standard of transportation. In
this
piece of essay, I am going to explain my opinion and reach a reasonable conclusion. Some people believe that taxpayers' money should be spent on the railways
instead
of on
roads
Suggestion
the roads
. Because a better railway network can support normal people's daily commute. The construction of the roads can only help a minority of people,
such
as people who have private cars. Under
this
condition, the authorities should take the interests of the majority into account.
However
, I hold the view that the government should finance the construction of roads and the tube system.
For example
, some people's working places are close to their apartments. In
this
way, they do not need to use the tube, while buses are in high demand.
Furthermore
, there are many people who prefer the
pergent
characteristic of the railway system, taking the tube would be their
first
choice. It is safe to say that improving the condition of both roads and railways would be helpful to normal people's daily lives. To draw things to a close, governments should put a balanced financial budget on constructing roads and railway networks. Only when the infrastructure is diverse can residents enjoy a comfortable life.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
