In some countries, governments are encouraging businesses and industries to move to regional areas outside big cities. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?

Governments are motivating businesses as well as industries to move their setups to countrysides in few nations. There are both merits as well as demerits associated with it. I strongly believe that the disadvantages overweigh the advantages. Indubitably stating, setting up of industries in these areas causes a threat to the natural beauty of the region. The emission of toxic gases into the atmosphere increases air pollution.
Similarly

Furthermore
, it

becomes a cause of concern for the local citizens as well. Not only, it causes frequent traffic congestion, but
also
puts pressure on the limited sources of the area.
For instance
, a recent survey conducted by the ‘BBC News’ has observed that there is an extreme water shortage in Winnipeg, a town in the northern part of Canada due to rapid industrialisation.
Thus
, these are worrying signs for future years.
On the contrary
, setting up of businesses involves a few benefits as well.
First
and foremost, it boosts up the economy of the region. There are various job opportunities for the educated youth of the area.
Next

Therefore

Although
, the industries can be setup in regional areas, it should have minimum impact on the local population.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.

Linking words for giving examples:

  • for example
  • for instance
  • to illustrate this
  • to give a clear example
  • such as
  • namely
