A person’s worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honour, kindness and trust, no longer seem important. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

.
First
of all, many individuals in leadership roles or are aspiring to be future leaders have adopted
this
thinking of gaining the respect and admiration of their followers through amassing material possessions in dubious and unlawful manner
instead
of basing their leadership qualities on traditional values. Due to
this
thinking we have seen an increase in corruption in many countries in Africa, Latin America, and South East Asia. If our leaders followed old fashioned values, corruption scandals in government institutions would have greatly reduced and funds that go

Secondly
, believing that societal status and wealth are the parameters to measure a person’s worth sets a bad example for our young generation. Young people have access to the internet and follow celebrities and music icons who epitomize
this
irrational thinking which is taking root in today’s modern
society
. Our youth are the future of our planet and passing the aforementioned morally corrupt ideas to them is a grave mistake. Parents and learning institutions have the sole responsibility to instill old fashioned values to preserve the moral fabric of our communities for decades to come. In conclusion, People should stick
