In spite of the advances made in agriculture, many people around the world still go hungry. Why is this the case? What can be done about this problem?

However
the agricultural practices have been developed, a number of individuals are still starving. In my opinion, the proliferation of
population
in the past few decades is the main cause of
this
problem, and the modern farming models can solve
this
issue. The
population
growth is a major concern for most of the nations' because natural resources are limited on earth, and farmers cannot grow corps in every quarter of a year.
Although
, the advancement in the agriculture helped the farmers and they are capable to grow 30% more vegetables and fruits: still they could not match the demand. To illustrate, in 19th century Indias'
population
were below 60
lakhs
, and there were ample amount of farming area available. But in 20th century Indias'
population
has increased to 1 crore and 32 lakhs, but farming land is same as it was earlier.
This
is the primary reason why people are hungry even after agricultural development. Scientists are working to tackle
this
issue, and vertical farming is a prominent solution to
this
. It requires 10 times less land that the traditional farming. It can be done in any vacant area or in a building of a society, which will help to reduce the cost of the food. Another benefit of
this
, water can be saved with
this
farming because it takes 90% less
