You’ve read an article about the company you work for in a business magazine. The article contains information that is wrong. Write a letter to your manager. In your letter: •give details of the magazine •explain what information about your company is wrong •suggest what you think your manager should do

Dear Ryan With regards to a recent
article
about our company XYZ Corporation, I am writing to bring your attention to a serious error printed in the
article
about our company. The
article
in question was recently published in the emerging technology section of the Harvard Business Review magazine, September edition 2020. Harvard Business Review magazine is a weekly edition from Harvard University Press and is widely regarded as one of the most trusted and popular business magazines in the world. The details of the error are as follows. The
article
clearly states several times that the net operating income of our company was 125 million US dollars for the fiscal year of 2019.
However
,
this
piece of information is incorrect as the net operating income was 500 million US dollars for the same.
This
misinformation can harm our company’s reputation among investors and can
also
have a major impact on its

this
inaccurate information about our company’s financials. I will be very grateful If you can write a letter to the editor of the magazine at your earliest convenience enclosing our recent financial report and urging him to reprint the
article
with the correct data as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your consideration. I look forward to hearing back from you soon. Yours Sincerely Saptarshi Banerjee

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
