It is argued that volunteering should be made compulsory in the

 curriculum. In order to inculcate human values and morals, schools should encourage their pupils to perform

 service in their neighbourhood.

, during my university days, I would volunteer to tutor underprivileged kids in the vicinity of my university after the

 hours. It helped me understand the intricacies of human emotions and instill a sense of belonging to the
community
. Volunteering helps the students to understand the different aspects of life. Students are used to interacting with kids belonging to similar social strata and upbringing.
As a result
 of performing
community
 work, they can understand people living in a different economic level thereby providing impetus to personal growth. To quote a personal example, teaching soccer to kids living in a nearby slum, has made me understand the hardships they face on a daily basis and
also
 provide a reflection of my current life and the zeal to improve

 going kids understand human values and morals and I strongly recommend that it should be part of the curriculum.
