It is expected that there will be a higher proportion of older people than that of young people in many countries in the future? Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

Population ageing is anticipated to appear in many nations in the years to come. Personally, I believe
this
tendency is completely detrimental to individuals as well as the whole society.
Firstly
, effectiveness in work places may be reduced when old staff outnumbers the young one. Senior workers in general have conservative mindset, which causes them to feel reluctant to learn from their younger colleagues.
This
may lead to conflicts among teams and possible failures of the firm’s projects.
Besides
, there is often
shortage
Suggestion
a shortage
of technical skills and knowledge among older generations, so many of them are unable to carry out tasks on an online platform or deal with basic computer software like

. In order to cope with the deficiency in quality workforce, many countries have already implemented outsourcing.
For example
, Japan is now seeking employees from poorer countries
such
as Vietnam or Philippines and wastes a lot of resources for its non-residents.
Secondly
, aging population
also
places a huge burden on the whole community.
In other words
, more money needs to be spent on social welfare so that retired people can be taken good care of. It is important for the state to ensure that the old who are sick receive sufficient medical treatment while those who are abandoned by their family can stay in nursing homes.
Such
policies cost a significant percentage of national budget,
thus
contributing to possible reduction in funding for other important fields like education and military. For the young, they have to share the responsibility by paying more taxes, and
this
puts them under a lot of pressure. In conclusion, I am convinced that the higher proportion of old population in the future will bring about many worrying issues.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
