With the increased global demand in oil and gas, undiscovered areas of the world should be opened up to access more resources. To what extent do you agree?

Some people think that due the rise in the

areas should be explored to acquire more resources. In my

believe
this
will lead to pollution, mass destruction of biodiversity and over exploration. Over the years, the world has witnessed a surge in the demand for crude
oil
and its constituents as it is used for transportation, to generate power, and household uses.
This
has caused over dependence on these resources and as resulted in many countries running out of

the need to explore other means of getting supplies at any cost.
However
, there are so many drawbacks. Exploration of
oil
involves drilling of the earth's surface to the bottom of the soil.
For example
the machinery

used and the processes of refining the
oil
will result into spillage which causes degradation and pollution of the soil and
also
in the course of obtaining gas the unwanted part is set ablaze
this
process is called gas flaring and it will pollute the air in that environment
this
will lead to diseases

infection, cough and sneezing.
Furthermore
, the ecosystem which is the environment will be adversely impacted as the combination of air and soil pollution will lead to loss of biodiversity and

spilled into the rivers and oceans. The effect of
this
will be drought, famine and

In addition
, over exploration will be at its peak as once crude

being
discovered in a particular area various petroleum companies will begin to contest amongst themselves and their sole aim is
maximization
Suggestion
the maximization
of profits without bothering about the impact of their activities. In conclusion, I believe the environment should be protected rather than being explored.
