The Nuclear
power
debate is a long-running controversy about the risks and benefits of using nuclear reactors to generate electricity for civilian purposes. Should nuclear energy be banned or developed is a difficult decision for each government.
Also it
Accept comma addition
Also, it
is something that will affect the life in which we live in the future. In my opinion, nuclear
power
should be banned.
First
of all, the disposal of nuclear waste can cause much headache. The waste remains radioactive for almost thousands of years. What is worse, there exist no long-term storage solutions for radioactive waste. It means that we have to build temporary facilities, which would run out space and money.
Besides
, the safety of nuclear talent is a very worrying thing. The 1986 Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine led to the deaths of 30 employees in the initial explosion and has had a variety of negative health effects on thousands across Russia and Eastern Europe. In 2011, A massive tsunami caused three nuclear meltdowns in Japan, resulting in the release of radioactive materials into the surrounding area. The nuclear industry has proposed new reactor designs that they suggest are safer.
However
, these designs are generally untested, and there is no guarantee that the reactors will be operated correctly.
In addition
to the major disasters
such
as explosions in nuclear
power
plants, the risk of leakage caused by the
uranium
mining and transportation process of nuclear
power
plants cannot be easily ignored.
Uranium
mining causes lung cancer in large numbers of miners because
uranium
mines contain natural radon gas, some of whose decay products are carcinogenic. Studies
also
show increased risk for those who reside near a nuclear
power
plant, especially for childhood cancers
such
as leukaemia. What is more, we have to consider the cost we build a nuclear function shrub. According to the study, nuclear talent flower construction costs-mainly materials, labour, and engineering—rose by 185 percent between 2000 and 2007. More recently, costs have increased even faster. Meantime, on a worldwide scale, high-grade
uranium
deposits will soon be exhausted. More and more rock needs to be excavated in order to extract the same amount of
uranium
, which results in cost increases whilst aggravating environmental pollution. Maybe few people know that large amounts of drink are necessary to separate the
uranium
from the ore. Yet many
uranium
mining areas suffer water shortage. The enormous drink consumption of mining operations and
uranium
ore processing plants competes with the rain needs of people, livestock and agriculture. Some people believe nuclear
power
is one of the answers to the energy gap owning to its effective electricity production.
However
, they ignore that challenging market conditions have left the nuclear industry struggling to compete. Strict regulations on maintenance, staffing levels, operator training, and shrub inspections have become a financial burden for the industry. In conclusion, the disadvantages of nuclear talent generation far outweigh the benefits. Banning nuclear function makes sense.
