Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology

People have different views about how many choices students should have in regard to what they can
study
at university. While some argue that it would be better for students to be forced into certain key areas of
study
, I believe that university students should be able to have their courses of choice. There are various reasons why people believe that universities should only offer courses that will be useful in the future. They may argue that some subjects,
such
as science and technology, are more beneficial than other
study
areas. On an individual level, it can be argued that those courses will furnish students who take them with more job prospects, career progression, better perks, and,
therefore
, increased quality of life.
For example
, in Vietnam, students who have finished information and technology courses at top universities
are offered

offer
better career opportunities and climb their corporate ladders at a more rapid pace. On a societal level, by limiting students to some specific university subjects, governments can ensure that the demands for
labor
a social class comprising those who do manual labor or work for wages
labour
forces with particular knowledge and skills are satisfied.
Finally
, some
study
areas,
such
as science and technology, will largely trigger new inventions affecting all people's lives and society as a whole. Despite these arguments, I believe that students should freely opt for their preferred
study
subjects. From my point of view, it will be more beneficial for both society and individuals.
Accordingly
, students will find it more meaningful to pursue their passions seriously, and,
therefore
, that will prevent them from descending into a vicious circle after their graduation.
Moreover
, society will not have to bear the weight of
the high

the highest
unemployment levels caused by graduates getting lost in the labyrinth of career choices. Aside from that, no one can predict which areas of knowledge would be the most useful in years. With the explosion of the digital age, thousands of jobs of human workers in specific sectors are threatened by the rise of automatic contraptions, and
this
trend makes us as humans return to our intrinsic values to outperform those robots. In turn, employers may prioritize;
for example
, creativity, critical thinking improved through a series of art, philosophy classes, when evaluating fresh graduates. In conclusion, even though universities focus on certain key subjects that seem useful, I support the education system in which students are encouraged to pursue what they enjoy.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
