In many cities the construction of new houses and office buildings is not controlled. This leads to people building in whatever style they want without thinking about design. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?

Many municipalities are unable to bring up a plan to guide constructors as well as the population to show them what are the norms and rules for building
houses
and offices.
This
takes cities to an uncontrolled situation where people construct their properties in many different styles, according to only to their own tastes and budget. Some people have positive feelings about
this
trend,
however
, in my opinion, the drawbacks are bigger due to the decrease in price it causes in the real estate market as well as the inefficient use of local infrastructure, leading it to an overcharge. The decrease in the price of properties is mainly caused by the lack of official construction plans. If a
city
does not create a construction guide for the engineers and architects of its area, it will probably follow what the customers decide as better for them.
This
can make the appearance of a neighbourhood or the entire
city
to be disconnected and ugly. That means that home-buyers or investors will not look or evaluate
this
area as expensive as others which have a pattern for office buildings and
houses
. Design-free constructions mean that the local infrastructure providers may not support the demand for basic
services
. Every
city
which beliefs in sustainable development for its area must think that an official building plan is necessary not just because of the way the
houses
and buildings should look like, but for attending the demand for basic
services
such
as electricity, water, and sewage. Without any formal development plan, residents will be able to construct buildings and
houses
with different designs and levels of consumptions.
This
can cause many breakdowns in the supply of basic
services
for the entire
city
and lead them to collapse in the long-term. To conclude, lack of control and development plans in cities cause many problems to the management as well as to the real estate market.
This
could lead a
city
to a complete break in their basic
services
as well as bad appearance.
Thus
, having no control over constructions brings more drawbacks than benefits to a region.
