In many places new homes are needed but the only space available for building them is in the countryside.some people believe it is more important to protect the countryside and not build new homes there.what is your opinion about this?

There is no doubt that the demand for homes is on the rise, so it becomes important to consider the location where these should be built. While some
people
believe that the countryside is a perfect location for these, others argue that it is crucial to protect the nature around a city. I tend to agree with the former argument.
Firstly
, in recent years
cities
have become overcrowded.
This
is because the job opportunities in urban areas are increasing at a healthy rate, which results in attracting more
people
from rural regions to shift there. Usually, there is a lot of unoccupied land at locations some distance away from commercial centres in the outskirts. If
this
land is utilized properly and new homes are built there
then
many
people
will consider shifting and
this
will reduce the congestion in
cities
.
For example
, after the development of Noida, road traffic in Delhi reduced by 20 per cent.
Therefore
developing
such
regions helps in decongesting big

Furthermore
, there has been a huge increase in house rent in

ast decade which has made buying a house unaffordable for many. Despite the number of
people
looking to rent is rising sharply, there has been a small growth in the number of new constructions. As a consequence creating a big difference between demand and supply, which can be reduced by making new apartments and building in the countryside. To illustrate

, consider the same example of Noida

since the development of Noida 5 years ago the rents in Delhi have been increasing only three per cent annually as compared to seven per cent before that. In conclusion, due to crowded
cities
and unaffordable property prices, I believe that it is the need of the hour to develop suburbs and encourage
people
to move there.
