Information technology is changing many aspects of our lives and now dominates our home, leisure and work activities. To what extent do the benefits of information technology outweigh the disadvantages?

It is certainly true that
technology
is becoming more widespread in many parts of the developed world,
however
, not all the aspects of using
technology
in a variety of activities have been positive,
although
, there are some advantages indeed. In my opinion, I think that the innovation of
technology
has equal pons and cons. On the one hand, there are several drawbacks of information
technology
. A common criticism of
this
is that
technology
has several impacts on health, which means that it might increase the rate of body disorders like weak eyesight and pain in the back and the neck as well.
Furthermore

On the other hand
, in spite of these drawbacks,
technology
has brought to us many important benefits as well. One
such
advantage could be that it

this
means that children can gain knowledge and useful information via
technology
. The
second
positive aspect can be that it eases and enhances the way of communication between individuals. A particularly good example here is that during Coronavirus lockdown, all schools in different countries converted the learning process to E-learning using various platforms like Microsoft Teams or Zoom application. In conclusion, despite some obvious drawbacks of information
technology
, it has
also
brought prevalent benefits at the same time.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
