Some parents are worried about the increasing level of violence on TV, video games and other types of entertainment for children’s leisure. How does this affect children? How do you think problem can be tackled?

Raising
children
, in the best way possible, is usually on the top of parents worries. The increasing of
TV
shows and games addressed to
children
with violent content has been the reason for families worst nightmares latelly, and they are right to worry: specialists say that in early ages is when a person forms patterns behaviors, and many times, they do that by copying adults and other references,
such
as
TV
idols and prefered characters of a game. To face
this
problem, quality
time
with family and open space for conversation are some keys, that will be discussed in
this
essay. Starting with quality
time
, many parents have been given the responsibility for their child education to a
third
person . Some times, that
third
party can be an open door for a forth, fith and so on, and some of those paths may lead to a
TV
or a game teaching what should be avoided by
children
. Spending
time
with the chidren, playing off screens and getting to know them deeply, might work to help them judge better what they see and hear when a parent is not around. Another way to protect the young ones from getting seducted by computers and TVs is making space for them to talk freely, using their immagination to talk about dreams, fantasies and daily routine.
This
should
also
be a moment of connection between the child and the adult in charge. A
time
to build trust and selfsteam. A love connection, indeed. According to some news,
children
that feel cared are more confident and
therefore
, they don't feel so attracted to violence of any kind. To conclude, the peace of mind for parents may come from a very well known source: love. To make
time
to be with the
children
by playing with them and talking to them in a way that they know who to trust and what is better
then
violence, is what will make them safe to play games or watch
TV
without getting to envolved in its stories.
