The pie charts provide information about the main ways of using mobile phones by African

 calls. Overall, nearly half of
teenagers
 during the period preferred to use their mobile phones to get access to social
networks
. It is obvious that
such
 reasons for using the
phone
 as a digital camera and social
networks
 were gaining popularity between 2016 and 2019 while using of email and
phone
 call functions was experiencing a decline. In regard to more widespread means of usage, social
networks
 applications were noted by 50% of respondents in 2016 as the main reason to use the
phone
.
Subsequently
, the figure fell slightly by 2% in 2017 and grew up two consecutive years to 56% up to 2019. Digital camera capabilities were positioned in
third
 place by 15% of
teenagers
 in 2016, while in 2019 a function gained more popularity and held
second
 place with 20% of respondents. In comparison, the email and call functionality of mobile phones were shrinking from 2016 and 2019. The proportion of
teenagers
 using a mobile
phone
 to send emails fell from 25% in 2016 to 19% in 2019, while the share of calls as a reason to use a mobile
phone
 fluctuated with little increase from 10% in 2016 to 13% in 2017 and a slight decrease in 2018 to 11% and two-fold decline in 2019 to 5%.
