station. Overall, it can be said that the whole
process
is depended on the high-level
reservoir
and the low-level
reservoir
, the
water
flows from the former
reservoir
to the latter
reservoir
during day time and
conversely
at night. As shown in the
process
, during the daytime, when the dam is opened the river
water
stored in the high-level
reservoir
flows to the low-level
reservoir
through the reversible turbines located in the
power
station. The
water
flow rotates the turbines and which makes the generator operate, and
then
the generator provides
power
to the national grid through the
power
lines.
On the other hand
, during the night reverse
process
take place the
water
is pumped from the low-level
reservoir
through the same reversible turbines to the high-level
reservoir
and once the
water
has reached there the dam is closed to preserve the
water
for the
next
day
process
