Some people think that parents have the greatest influence on their child’s academic development, while other think that a child’s teacher has more influence. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

There is no doubt that both a
teacher
 and a
parent
 play a key role in a
child
's academic development.
However
, it is debatable who has the most influence, the
teacher
 or the
parent
. In
this
 essay, we shall tackle both sides of
this
 coin.
First
 and foremost, we shall look at a
teacher
's role. They must educate the
child
 as per the syllabus requirement.
However
, on average schools run for 7 hours, which means that all the subjects need to be taught to the kids, in
this
 duration. So, as the time is very short, they can only explain the concepts to the youth, and can only ensure that their concepts are spot on.
For example
, when I was in school, our school ran from 7:45 AM to 1:30 PM, with a 30-minute break period. So during these lectures, the teachers would teach us the synopsis of the lesson.
This
 would help give us an idea of what the lesson was about. The main learning was done at home, and
this
 is where the
parent
's role comes into play. The parents' must sit with their children and go through with them their daily lessons and quiz them regularly, as
this
 will help them to have the theories imprinted on their brains.
Furthermore
,
parent
's can help their teens with homework and different project assignments, which will
also
 help them to understand where their
child
 is academically, and to know if they do require any
further
 assistance. In conclusion, I feel the roles of a
teacher
 and
parent
 go hand and hand with each other, as both are pivotal in helping a
child
 to achieve their full academic potential.
