Many people say that universities should only offer places to young students with the highest marks, while others say they should accept people of all ages, even if they did not do well at school. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

There is a school of thought that only young candidates with the most excellent
results
should be admitted to a
university
. While reasons can be given to justify
this
, I support the idea that everyone should have the chance to pursue higher education. On the one hand, young
people
with the highest
marks
are suitable
students
at universities.
Firstly
, it is their outstanding high school
results
that exemplify their ability to study well. Due to their high
marks
achievement, they must have mastered skills
such
as logical thinking, time management, or a good memory, which could effectively help them handle a heavy workload and pressure at
university
.
By contrast
,
students
who did not do well at high school may find it difficult to keep pace with the
university
requirements, which gradually leads to discouragement.
Therefore
, only young and excellent
students
could succeed in higher education systems.
On the other hand
, I side with those who believe that universities should accept
people
regardless of their ages and previous
results
.
First
, everyone could reap the rewards from
further
studying. The knowledge they acquire from
this
may be helpful to their career.
For example
, many working positions require applicants to have certain qualifications, and a bachelor’s degree i

one of them.
Second
, academic
results
are not the only way to measure one’s ability to study at
university
. Actually, there are various features,
such
as extra activities, special talents, or practical experience, that are taken into consideration when a
university
chooses its
students
.
Besides
this
, the fact that
students
received bad
marks
in the past does not mean they could not gain better
results
in the future. As learning is a life-long process, everyone could be better if they put enough time and effort into it. These are the reasons why
people
of different ages should be allowed to study
further
, no matter what their previous
results
are. In conclusion, I firmly hold the view that the chance of attending
university
should be given to
people
regardless of ages and
results
, not the only young ones with the highest
marks
.
