You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child. Write a letter to the parents. In your letter • Explain why you would like the job • Give details of why you would be suitable person to employ • Say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia

Hi Dad, I hope you are feeling well? I want to carry you along concerning a decision I am making about going to Australia for about six months. During
this
period, I will be staying with a family and looking after their six-year-old child. I would like the job because it would give me a chance to practicalize some of the tactics taught in school. For one, I think I am suitable for
this
role because of my background in Child Psychology and you know I have handled children of
this
age bracket before.
Moreover
, the
last
internship I had
last
semester has adequately prepared me for
this
role
Finally
, I know that I would have some spare time after attending to the demand of the job, so I would like to use my free time to visit some important places in Australia and probably make some new friends.
Also
, I have heard a lot about kangaroos here in Australia, so I would love to visit their parks to have a
first
-hand view of these lovely animals. So, that would be all for now. I will keep in touch with you about my plans; don't worry too much, I will be fine and do take care. Best wishes, Rotimi

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
