Social media is becoming increasingly popular amongst all age groups. However, sharing personal information on social media websites does have risks. Do you think that the advantages of social media outweigh the disadvantages?

The term social
media
refers to a computer-based technology that facilitates the sharing of ideas, thoughts, and information through virtual networks and communities. It has become the order of the day for all age groups in sharing stuff including personal info not being aware of the demerits associated with it. In my opinion, the benefits of social
media
outweigh its disbenefits. Reasons will be given herein.
To begin
with, Technology has broadened itself so much that most people use the internet from the comfort of their homes in businesses, jobs and so on.
For example
, in applying for a job, you do not need to physically go and submit your curriculum vitae to the company nor is there a need for a physical interview unless specified, social
media
has made it an easy peasy. Sharing personal information is
also
good because it gives people an idea of whom you are and the stuff you are capable of doing; more so,
this
technology age has helped in exposing all age groups to its usefulness.
On the other hand
, a large number of people believe social publishing is unsafe for the young ones that are been exposed to it, they believe it does not teach morals, thereby leading them astray after birthing what they saw or read.
For instance
, when restrictions or parental guidance is not done , they watch and listen to whatever they like, gradually they instil those things in them and start acting them. Having a child of 10years who has a smartphone , he watches, listens and reads whatever he comes across on the internet after a short while, due to their speed and acuity in wanting to know more, they begin to practicalize them, sharing personal information some go-ahead to send nudes or even watch pornographic contents. These children should be guided all the time on what they should do on social
media
.
In addition
, releasing personal clues on social news can
also
lead to identity theft, impersonation etc. caution should be taken at all times. By and large, the benefits of social news will always outweigh its disbenefits
however
caution should be taken especially when it comes to youngsters.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
