You paid a refundable deposit when you rented an apartment. You left the apartment in good condition but the Landlord won't return your deposit. Write letter to the Landlord. - explain why you are writing -ask for the return of your deposit -inform the landlord of possible legal action
Dear Sir,
I am writing to you in connection with my stay at your apartment in Brooklyn East Towers. I haven't yet received my refundable deposit of 2000 dollars. I am writing to enquire why my deposit has been held back.
During my stay, I kept the premises clean and looked after all the appliances provided. There were no damages at the end of my stay and I made sure to leave all the Linens in the bathtub as expected. Despite taking these precautions, my deposit was not returned to me.
I request you to rightfully return the full amount owed to me. Failure to do can result in legal action. Wrongful action has a fine of 5000 dollars, far more than what is owed to me. Hoping that you can cooperate so we can avoid the legal route.
Yours Sincerely,
John
