✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
Dear Sir, Trust that you are well and safe. My name is John and I am currently enrolled at St. George University. I am in year 2 of my English Literature Program. I am writing to you to bring to your attention the need for a better sporting culture at our Institution. Currently, we have sports clubs limited to only Football & Basketball.
However
, many students are interested in other activities which our University doesn't offer at present. I would like to propose a plan to understand the sporting needs of the student population and
accordingly
work towards building the facilities to cater to
this
need. I would love to set aside some time to discuss
this
with you. Kindly provide me with your availability and I will gladly schedule a slot with your secretary. Yours Faithfully, John

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
