Large businesses have big budgets for marketing and promotion and as a result, people graviate towards buying their products. What problems does this cause? What could be done to encourage people to buy local products?

In recent years, big
companies
are able to organise large marketing campaigns that attract a great number of buyers due to their unlimited
budgets
.
This
essay would attempt to point out the primary aftermaths of
this
situation before outlining some viable solutions to mitigate the problems. One evident damage of
this
situation is the losses of local
companies
. Local
businesses
with smaller
budgets
can not do marketing campaigns as the size of big
companies
, leading them to be the obvious underdog in today’s competitive market.
For example
, big
companies
can easily allocate their
budgets
for celebrity endorsement in order to attract public attention and boost their sales effectively, but small-sized local stores can not afford
such
expensive advertising methods like that,
therefore
they have to use cheaper methods that bring lower results.
In addition
, due to having insignificant
budgets
, local
products
would start to be bought and monopolized by large
businesses
. One effective method to tackle
this
problem is the cheaper advertising solutions for local industry. In today’s modern society, it’s not hard to see somebody surfing social networking sites
such
as Facebook or Instagram. Local
companies
can easily post a picture of their
products
on social media without losing a penny.
Therefore
, whether they make a profit or not is up to their
products
’ qualities. The
second
solution is that the government can impose higher taxes on large
businesses
and use that money to create financial aid to support potential local
companies
. In conclusion,
although
large
businesses
with their vast amount of
budgets
can easily impact people to buy their
products
by all kinds of advertisements, there are still many opportunities for local
products
as long as they can guarantee about the qualities with consumers.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
