You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child Write a letter to the parents. In your letter •explain why you would like the job •give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ. •say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing
this
letter to apply for a job advertised in an Australian magazine
this
Sunday, for a Nany of Six-year-old child.
However
,I would like to draw your attention to the said Job for two reasons.
Firstly
, It's been a month since I have just completed my
last
Semester,So, I am all free and available for
this
Job.Since I did Master in Child Psychology.
This
assignment would help me to understand more.
However
,I need to stay here until my PhD programme starts.
That is
why I find it very relevant to my field and support me financially too.
Secondly
, As I mentioned my thesis will be on the same subject and I get along very well with children.Despite getting theoretical , the knowledge I may get a chance to learn
first
hand.
Also
,Meanwhile, by the time your child is in school one take tuition.
Finally
, I would like you to spare me 2 hours daily so that I can visit the library for my upcoming assignment.
Also
,It will be a great help and support If you could hire and send an invitation letter so that I could apply for the 'Stay in application' . I will be looking forward to seeing a positive response from you. Best Regards, Zunaira Faiz

The Greeting

Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.

Always start an informal letter in the ways:

  • Dear + name
  • Hi / Hello + name

‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.

For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:

  • Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
  • Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
