, others believe that it can be attained through reading materials, movies and the internet. I disagree that to learn about cultures
, people have to travel. Due to two main reasons, one it is more convenient and two it costs less.
First
, globalization has turned the world into a small village. With modern technology we can get information instantly from anywhere around the globe, moreover
using films is an immersive learning experience . For example
couple of weeks, I enjoyed a documentary that I watched online, the documentary tackled Chinese culture, and I was able to explore the wonders of this
Asian culture from my home, thousands of miles away from China, Similarily such
an experience can be achieved through books. Thus
, if technological means were implemented to learn about culture, plenty of time can be saved.
Second
, travelling to sites to experience cultures
will require aeroplane tickets, hotel stays, ground transportation, and entrance fees, which will impose costly bills. On the other hand
, learning about them through books, the internet and films can cost
significantly less. For instance
, a cultural book may cost
around 20$ plus another 20$ movie about the same topic adding up to 40$, the total cost
will be tiny compared to travelling cost

affordable costs, people with limited budgets can gain access to various cultures
