Advances in science and technology and other areas of society in the last 100 years have transformed the way we live as well as postponing the day we die. There is no better lime to be alive than now. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

It is true that the
last
century has seen the greatest innovation and implementation of technical marvels in our society and significant change in our daily
life
as a result
but I disagree with the idea that
this
is a better age to live as compared to older times or upcoming future. As mentioned here no one can deny that industries like medical, manufacturing, electronics and communication have revolutionized over time. We have a higher
life
expectancy due to the discovery of new drugs and medical procedures not to mention cosmetic therapies to look younger and suit other desires. Transportation and communication made
this
world smaller. It is no more a dream to reach remote corners of the world in a day. Being in touch with any person located at any place is just a press of a button away. Appliances have taken the load of laborious work like cleaning and shifting. In spite of the fact that research and invention made
life
easier and more comfortable but could not guarantee the increased quality of
life
. With the advancement of technology, threats of weapons have been magnified. Human
life
became less secure in the face of terrorism all over the world. Gadgets made people more self-centred and materialistic. Families are broken into individuals. Too much attachment with communication tools created gaps in human relationships.
As a result
, we can see the development of science in spite of being a boon to society and human
life
could not assure quality
life
rather turned out to be the cause of loneliness and depression sometimes. As human beings, we should control technology rather than let technology controls us. Only that can make us reach a better time.
