Some people believe that visitors to other countries should follow local customs and behaviour. Others disagree and think that the host country should welcome cultural differences. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

There are
people
who think that other nationalities must adhere to the local
traditions
and customs of other countries they visit. Respecting the ideas and behaviour of a host
country
is a must.
However
, I believe that local
people
should accept cultural differences
instead
and must not expect foreign individuals to comply with local
traditions
. Each
country
has their own beliefs and
traditions
. Some
people
believe that as a sign of respect, tourists must
also
do what the locals do. These tourists come to a different
country
to have a vacation, relax and enjoy the beautiful sights of another nation. Imposing a behaviour to a foreign person can add another source of stress that they are trying to stay away from.
Instead
of expecting something from them, it is much more appropriate to showcase to them the beauty of local tradition and culture.
Thus
, encouraging them to see, feel, and enjoy the things the
country
has to offer.
For instance
, showing hospitality and kindness, introducing them to tasty local cuisines, and educating them about historical and cultural architecture.
In addition
, local
people
might
also
benefit from tourists like learning a new language and
also
about other cultural beliefs and
traditions
.
Similarly
, accepting other cultures does not only benefit the local
people
but the society as well. It is because of the tendency of foreign nationals to come back and visit again in the future, bringing with them their loved ones and friends. In return, the tourism economy of one's
country
will
also
flourish through boosted economic revenues, possibilities for job creation, and the development of new infrastructures. Overall, accepting differences from foreign citizens is not a negative idea. It benefits both parties in learning various cultural behaviours and
traditions
and
also
has a positive impact on economic growth.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
