You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child. Write a letter to the parents. In your letter • explain why you would like the job • give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ • say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia

Dear Mrs Agu, My name is Dumebi and I am writing to indicate my interest in looking after your six-year-old child. I would like to work for you because I have been in search of a caregiving job for some time and I believe
this
is a wonderful opportunity.
Also
, I enjoy taking care of little children and teaching them a lot about interesting things. I believe that taking care of your child is an opportunity to practice my leadership role and I am certain he or she will learn a great deal from me. I
also
have younger siblings I take care of ,
therefore
,I am familiar with babysitting. I plan to read novels and cook new meals during my free time.
However
, I am certain your child will find cooking interesting as well. For more information about me, please call me on
this
number 09049563721, thank you for your time. Yours Faithfully, Dumebi ugwu.

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
