An increasing number of schools provide tablets and laptop computers for students to use in school, replacing books and other printed materials like exams and assignments. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this trend?

Technology
is widely spreading in many fields and education is no exception. There are a lot of experiments done in the field of teaching and introducing
technology
is one
such
thing. While the evolution of
tablets
and
laptops
is happening in school currently and it helps
students
in many ways, it cannot replace books and other forms of printed materials. On one hand, schools giving
laptops
and
tablets
can increase the student's knowledge in the subjects.
Students
get an opportunity to learn about the subject in detail using
laptops
and
tablets
. A lot of information is available across the internet and
students
can easily access them and use it for learning and researching.
Thus
giving
students
electronic gadgets can help them in their
studies
.
On the other hand
, letting
students
use electronic gadgets inside the classroom can easily distract them from their
studies
. Social media and games can easily attract school
students
making them turn away from their
studies
.
Students
can get easily distracted when a game pops up or a movie ad comes up when they are studying. A study shows that studying in books traditionally can create a sense of study among
students
rather than using
laptops
or
tablets
. In conclusion, while bringing
technology
into schools can help
students
learn new concepts and research them, it can
also
result in them getting away from
studies
and leading them to waste a lot of time.
Thus
it is better to use
technology
as an addition to books and exams rather than making them the
first
choice of education.
