You were doing a short course at another country. All of a sudden, you had to leave the course and fly back to your home country. Write a letter to your teacher, and in your letter – express your gratitude – explain why you had to leave – explain what part of the course you enjoyed the most

Dear Madam, I am one of your students who commenced my certification in graphic design. I am reaching out to inform you that I will be travelling back to my home, India and
therefore
, will not be able to continue the course.
First
and foremost, I would like to express my absolute delight, in being a part of
such
an intense and fun procedure. I must mention, that having you as a dedicated lecturer, made it, even more, easier and not to forget, an overwhelming learning experience. As much as I would like to complete the program, I have had an emergency, concerning my dad's health. About a year back, he was diagnosed with diabetes type 2. For
this
, he consulted the specialist and started following a diet plan with insulin, resulting in a good health routine.
However
, in the past 3 ,months there seems a massive fluctuation in his sugar readings.
In addition
, has found a stone in his bladder. which is a big concern for the family. Since I am a single child, I wanted to take
this
time out to be his caretaker and help with any possible steps, leading him with improvements to his health.
Therefore
, I have now discontinued my course at the institute and will be travelling on July 6th. Kindly accept my gratitude for your contribution to my learnings. I can't forget how you have provided me with extra hours in order to cope with my doubts.
Moreover
, The conceptual strategies and software training was always the two areas, in which I wanted to, hold command . And
therefore
, have equally enjoyed and manifested. Thank you for your efforts and I hope you have a beautiful future ahead. Looking forward to hearing from you! Yours Sincerely, Shagun Rodhe

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
