You own an old item that you think is valuable and would like to sell. Write a letter to the owner of an antique’s shop. In your letter: explain how you found the shop describe the item that you would like to sell say how much you would like to sell the item for

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing
this
to bring your attention to an antic that I have in my possession.
to begin
with, let me give the details about how I got to know about your shop. I read an article about your shop in the Sunday Observer
last
month. In that, they have rated you as one of the great sellers in our country. So, I thought to contact you
first
, before selling
this
item. The item that I have is an old coin, and I believe
this
belongs to the 17th century because it has some symbols which appeared in that era.
In addition
to
this
, it's round in shape, and it has a clear gold colour. I expect to sell
this
item for around 10 million because these are very rare to find.
Moreover
, I have obtained a certificate from the Sri Lankan archaeology society to prove
this
is not fake. Anyway, I am open to negotiations, so please let me know about your interest. I would appreciate your immediate response to
this
, and I look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerely, Supun

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
