The given bar graph illustrates the proportion of men and women who lived alone in England in 2011 of different ages, and the given pie chart shows the number of
bedrooms
in these households. Overall, it is clear that more males lived alone in the
age
group
between 35 to 29, whereas females had the highest proportion of that in the
group
aged 85 and over.
Additionally
, among all the one-person households, only a very low
percentage
of them lived in a house with a single bedroom. Looking
first
at the bar graph, it is noticeable that males comprised a higher
percentage
in the younger
age
group
, and it peaked in the
age
group
from 35 to 49, at 65 per
cent
.
However
, in the following groups, as the
age
keeps increasing, the proportion of men dwindled gradually. In the
group
of over 85 and above, leaving merely 25 per
cent
, and 75 per
cent
of the people who lived alone were female. Moving onto the pie chart, the
percentage
of one-person households which had one and three
bedrooms
showed a similar figure, both at roughly 28 per
cent
, and those with two
bedrooms
comprised the highest
percentage
, at 35.4 per
cent
.
However
, only less than 7 per
cent
of the household had more than 4
bedrooms
.
