Life cycle of a species of large fish called the salmon

The diagrams show different stages of the life cycle of
salmon
fish. Overall, It all starts with laying
eggs
in the upper
river
and by passing different stages they ended up in the sea as adult
salmon
. Looking into the details,
Salmon
fish lay
eggs
at the bottom of small reefs and stones. These
eggs
are laid in the upper
river
, where water flow is slow.
Eggs
are hatched in the upper
river
and small
fishes
from these
eggs
start growing. These
fishes
remained in slow water for the
next
5-6 months. After passing initial 5-6 months
then
these small
fishes
called fry with the size of 3-8 cm moved to lower rivers. In the lower
river
water flowed fast and
this
fry remained there for the
next
4 years. Once these
fishes
are grown into smolt and their sizes are approximately 12-15 cm
then
these smolt go to the open sea. In open seas, they spend their life which is around 5 years. The average size of adult
salmon
is about 70-76 cm. At the end of their life cycle, these
salmon
again go to the
river
and lay their
eggs
for the reproductivity of their species.
