You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. You have received a letter from your bank, asking you to acknowledge receipt of a new bank card. However, the card was missing from the envelope. Write a letter to the bank's head office. In your letter: explain why you are writing express concern about the missing card ask them what they intend to do You should write at least 150 words.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing with regard to the new
bank
card
which was supposed to be received through the recorded delivery. Yesterday, I received a recorded delivery from the
bank
mentioning the new
bank
debit
card
and its pin
number
is enclosed with the courier. When I opened the courier, the
card
and the pin
number
were not available. I assumed that the
bank
has forgotten to include the
card
and
number
.
However
, after you have requested an acknowledgement for receiving the
card
. I realised there may be an issue with the delivery. Usually, the
card
is collected at the respective branch and only the PIN
number
is sent to the home address.
This
time, the
card
is
also
included in the courier, Is it because of the COVID lockdown and reduced the
number
of visitors to the branch? Could you please elaborate on the new procedure? Hope the
card
is not active yet, if not, please kindly deactivate it as soon as possible. Looking forward to hearing your responses soon. Yours faithfully Harry Kane

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
