You are studying for a qualification, and you would like some time off work to complete it. Write a letter to your manager. In your letter: Ask for some time off to complete a qualification. Suggest what you will do later at work if you have time off. Say how the qualification helps your job or company.
Dear Michael,
Trust
this
letter finds you well. I am writing this
to request one week of study leave to complete my final papers for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant course, I am currently pursuing.
As discussed last
week, I have remaining three papers to complete. The exams are scheduled for two days - next
Wednesday and Thursday respectively, so in order for me to prepare prior to the exam day, I would like to take a week off for the preparation.
I do understand that the budgeting deadline is approaching, however
, I will manage to complete it during the weekend after my papers.
The course is beneficial for my career progression within the company, as once I am qualified, I will be able to take over the Finance Manager position which is currently vacant. In addition
to the above, I will also
be able to train the staff beneath me to take over my current Assistant Manager profile, hence
motivating our existing staff.
I hope you will consider my request and look forward to your positive reply.
Yours sincerely
