You are going to move out of your apartment in a English-speaking country. Your landlord is a very good person, who has assisted you a lot during your stay. Meanwhile, your friend would like to rent the flat after you. Write a letter to your landlord. In your letter, • Let your landlord know that you will be leaving • Thank you landlord for his/her help • Tel him/her about your friend

Dear Mr Yang, I am writing to present my gratitude for all your assistance during my stay, and I will refer my friend to rent your flat. Since I have received an acceptance acknowledgement letter from a Canadian college, I will move to Canada one month later.
Hence
, I will repaint the whole walls in your apartment and keep all appliances tidy when returning
this
unit to you. I would like to thank you for all support that you gave to me when I lived in
this
cosy house. I still remember the
first
day when I came here, and you prepared delectable noodle soup for me to fulfil my appetiser. My friend is an introverted girl and an organized person, so she perpetually likes to maintain the house cleanly.
Additionally
, she dislikes a party, so she will not mess up the apartment.
Moreover
, she is Taiwanese, so it is beneficial for you to easily communicate with her. I look forward to hearing your reply regarding my reference and hope you have a wonderful day. Yours sincerely, Claire Chen

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
