Several languages are in danger of extinction because they are spoken by very small numbers of people. Some people say that governments should spend public money on saving these languages, while others believe that would be a waste of money. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

It is true that some minority
languages
 may disappear in the near future. Some people argue that spending taxpayer’s
money
 on saving those
languages
 would be a waste of
money
 and are many sectors that need investments.
This
 essay will discuss both views and outline why I feel governments should at least try for saving those
languages
 from extinction. There are many reasons saving minority
languages
 could be a waste of
money
. Those
languages
 are used by a few groups of
society
, the expensive education system will be needed to teach the
languages
 in schools to make sure that a large number of people learnt it, and states will have to pay to train the teachers and have to make sure if all facilities are available. In Bangladesh,
for instance
, here people from many cultures live together, they all have their own
languages
, but only one language is officially used and everyone knows it.
This
 allows societies to stay focused on one tongue and be an expert on the particular one. Despite these arguments, others, myself included, feel that language is part of our culture. It represents who we are and our traditions. If language disappears, a whole way of life will disappear with it, we will lose the cultural diversity that makes our
society
 more interesting. Japan can be a great example of it, they strictly stick to the cultures which their previous generations were following since the beginning of their lives. by spending
money
 to protect these minority
languages
; the government could save not only the
languages
 but
also
 the cultures and behaviours that are part of their
society
. In conclusion, it may save
money
 in a short time by not spending on
languages
, but in the long run,
this
 would have an extremely negative impact on their culture and
society
.
