On the other hand

 in fostering a well-informed and engaged citizenry. In my opinion, both of these views have merit.
Education
 should provide individuals with the

 and knowledge necessary to succeed in the workforce, but it should

 provide them with the tools to be active and informed citizens. A well-rounded
education
 should strive to achieve both of these goals. A well-informed and engaged citizenry is essential for a healthy democracy and a strong economy.
Furthermore

 include personal development, ethics and moral values, and other life
skills
 which will help in leading a fulfilling life.
