This is an IELTS writing task 1 sample answer essay on the topic of average income and people below the poverty line in an IELTS table.

The table demonstrates ages, income and their relation to poverty in three
states
in the USA. Overall, it is apparent that more of the citizens of
Utah
are aged under 18, while those who are aged over 60 are in
Florida
. The average income per person appears to be almost the same in
California
and
Florida
at a median of $22500. Almost less than a fifth of the population in
California
is below the poverty line, while
Florida
and
Utah
have a little less. In
California
and
Florida
, a little less than a fifth of the
percentage
of citizens are aged under 18, while
Utah
appears to have the highest
percentage
at 28 per
cent
. In these
states
, there are generally fewer people aged under 60, excluding
Florida
.
California
and
Utah
have a combined
percentage
of 21 per
cent
, which is beaten by
Florida
by 2 per
cent
. As I mentioned, the average income of individuals in
California
and
Florida
is pretty similar,
however
,
Utah
has three-quarters of the
percentage
that these 2
states
have ( 17000 ). 16 per
cent
of the population of
California
is below the poverty line, which is the highest of the three
states
.
