The given chart compares the research
students
learning six subjects in computer science ,depending on their gender in a university in the USA in 2011.
Looking from an overall
perspective it is readily apparent that male students
had more interest in any given subject other than Linguistics, whereas
female students
dominated in that area. The most followed entity was Natural science among both genders.
With regards to Linguistics, more than 100 ladies participated in that while
their counterparts showed less interest ,accounting for less than 100.Although
in natural science both parties engaged with similar enthusiasm with 200 students
from each party, other subjects showed differences in selecting the subjects. The maximum gap was seen in Mathematics where 200 males were involved with that whereas
only less than 50 females were counted ,showing a huge discrepancy.
In Psychology, programming and engineering, girls were outnumbered by boys .Less than 100 females have chosen to engineer when it was 150 for males, likewise
programming showed a similar trend,( 150- boys/ less than 100 girls).Add a comma
,likewise
Although
psychology attracted a large number of males , 200 students
,it was just above 150 for females.Submitted by g.s.subasinghe on
