The table below shows population figures for four countries for 2003 and projected figure for 2025 and 2050.
The table compares the number of inhabitants in Argentina,
Indonesia
, Italy and the Republic of Korea in 2003 and their predicted numbers in 2025 and 2050.
It is clear that
Indonesia
had by far the largest population
in 2013 and the same ranking position could be seen in 2050. The figure for the population
of Argentina is the smallest in 2013. However
, according to
projections, in 2050 this
position could be taken by Italy.
In 2003 there were 238 million
people living in Indonesia
. With a growth rate of over 30 million
every 20 years, Indonesia
could remain at the top of these four countries in terms of population
. By contrast
, Argentina, which had only 34 million
people in 2013, could see its population
increase by a total of about 30 million
over the next 40 years or so.
The Italian population
, on the other hand
, is likely to decrease, from 54 million
in 2013 to 45 million
in 2050, meaning that there could be fewer people living in Italy in 2050 than in any of the mentioned countries. The population
figures for the Republic of Korea will stay relatively stable, seeing only a small increase of around 4 million
during the period of 2013 to 2025.Submitted by xiexue1223 on
