The graph below shows percentages of types of waste that were recycled in a town between 2000 and 2010. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.
The bar chart compares the proportion of recycled refuse in a specific place in the given years 2000, 2005 and 2010.
Obviously, the recycled percentage of each material showed an
overall
rising tendency, with the only exception happening in 2005 when the number of recycled cans
saw a negligible amount of decline. In 2010, the recycling rates of plastic, cans
and paper almost doubled and the figure for metal even tripled at the same time.
In 2000, the percentages of different kinds of recycled waste were extremely low and each of them was around 10 per cent
but no more than 15 per cent
. In the meantime, cans
enjoyed the highest recycling rate, while
metal overtook its place in the remaining years, accounting for less than 30 per cent
in 2005 and 40 per cent
in 2010.
It is noticeable that an exponential rise could be seen in the recycling of cans
where the figure rocketed from approximately 11 per cent
in 2005 to roughly 35 per cent
in 2010. Similarly
, the recycling rate of plastic, paper and metal also
increased, but much less significant than that of cans
, with a slight increment of around 10 per cent
between 2005 and 2010.Submitted by Evalynn on
