In your opinion, what are the qualities that characterise a successful person? Why do you think these should be the criteria?

Famous
people
with a great amount of fortune are normally considered successful
people
, including many celebrities and businessmen.
However
, there are more qualities that could define an outstanding
person
,
such
as the way they contribute to the
world
and the influence they have on others. First of all,
although
there are many rich
people
, only a few of them make a contribution to the
world
, since it may affect their own benefits. Take Elon Musk as an example, as the founder of Tesla, he gave up the pattern of technology for building electric cars, so more car companies are able to join the market of electric cars and advance correlative technologies.
Such
behaviours may not enhance his fortune, but they could provoke a positive effect on the
world
since the mass use of electric cars could reduce the emission of CO2 and slow down the deterioration of global warming.
Secondly
, successful
people
could be those who use their influence to derive positive effects on their societies, by playing role models.
For example
, Micheal Obama, the former first lady in the United States, never stops publishing books or giving speeches to encourage
people
to break through the restrictions created by societies and be good
people
to the
world
.
To conclude
, being rich and famous makes
people
have

the power to affect the
world
. Successful
people
will take the obligation to make the
world
a better place for everyone,
while
others just use it as a tool to gain more benefits. In my perspective, fame and money will only exaggerate a
person
's true nature,
while
a good
person
will become an even better
person
, a bad
person
will become eviler.
Therefore
, the contribution being made and the way they influence the
world
is what really can define a successful
person
.
